Skye's English Chardonnay
Another first from Hush Heath - an English Chardonnay.
The Chardonnay at Hush Heath in 2010 was one of the best vintages to be picked at the estate. Spring frosts in May had reduced the crop to around 2.5t/acre and the rather cool summer had delayed ripening. In the end a frost on the 21st October 2010 forced our hand and the grapes were picked that day as the leaves crumpled and fell, leaving a completely bare vineyard by the evening.
The grapes themselves were unharmed and the delicious juice allayed any fears.
